An in-depth, interactive course in abdominal and chest x-rays. Lectures are interspersed with a large amount of image interpretation and quizzes.

Step 1-approved course

The course is approved for credit in the Swedish specialist training in diseases of dogs and cats, stage 1, and the Norwegian specialist training.

Level: for everyone

The course is held online: In recent years, this course has developed into an interactive online course. The group exercises take place in different digital rooms. We recommend that you use a computer, preferably with a headset and with a working camera for the best experience.

Objectives of the course, after completing the course the participant will:

have an understanding of basic radiation protection.


have knowledge of general x-ray physics and x-ray technology abdomen and thorax.


have developed a systematic and effective technique for interpreting abdominal and thoracic images in dogs and cats.


be able to account for the normal and race-typical anatomy and how it changes in different projections and races.


understand and describe different types of abdominal and thoracic changes including different contrast examinations and grade the findings according to their most likely radiological diagnosis.


have knowledge of current literature, links and web-based aids.
